Mike and Joan Vilasi are members of North Point Community Church.

In 2008 we sold all of our possessions and moved to Nicaragua. Upon arrival we established our first project “Helping Hands with Hearts for Christ” (H3C). The name says it all. We began doing whatever God put in front of us. We use our hearts, souls and hands to build His Kingdom in whatever way He chooses. In the beginning we volunteered at an orphanage for a little over a year. While we adjusted to the culture, we built relationships and let the Lord lead our path. Since then we have been blessed by operating a home for abused girls, working in the community and with various orphanages, a Christian camp, preschools, children, churches, feeding programs, doctors and individual families.

Mike & I feel called by God to live a simple life while reaching out to the less fortunate and being a hand up, while sharing with them God’s word. We believe that God will provide for our every need and guides our steps day by day. We further believe we are His, and He is carrying out His enterprises through us.

World Changers exists to serve churches in their mission of making disciples by providing missions experiences that develop the heart of students for serving others and sharing the gospel so they can change the city…change the world. This is accomplished through specifically focused meaningful missions experiences in strategic cities of all sizes. North Point partners with World Changers by sending a student team on an annual basis. Please be in prayer for World Changers as they seek out, qualify and serve various project sites.

Life Impact – Shepherd’s Rest Oasis

Winnsboro/Columbia, SC

Life Impact Ministries

Shepherd’s Rest, a Life Impact Oasis under the care of Bob and Sandy McKee, is impacting nations by strengthening missionaries, pastors, and Christian leaders, through providing “a safe place to go – a safe person to talk to.” With 1 out of 20 career missionaries leaving the field each year, and 1 out of 8 pastors thinking about resigning right now with no place to go, Shepherd’s Rest offers an opportunity for these servants to physically rest, and find spiritual and emotional renewal, as they are helped to process life events and issues in light of God’s perspective, calling, and gifting.
